Join Our Welcome & How-to-Contribute Meetings – Save the Dates!

We are organizing two meetings to introduce new members and update current members on the latest developments in the Action. These sessions will help new members get started and encourage active participation from everyone.

We warmly invite all members to join one of our Welcome & How-to-Contribute Meetings!

These meetings will cover:

  • The structure and main objectives of the Action
  • Opportunities to get involved in projects and grants
  • How to collaborate with Working Groups (WGs) and MC members
  • Ongoing and future initiatives

MC members and WG leaders are strongly encouraged to attend to support new members, contribute to discussions, and propose new project ideas.

About PROGRAMMING COST Action 

Our Action focuses on strengthening Geriatric Medicine (GM) in countries where it is still developing by:

  • Assessing GM education and identifying training needs
  • Developing tailored educational curricula for healthcare professionals
  • Promoting international collaboration and knowledge-sharing
  • Engaging stakeholders and policymakers to enhance older people’s care
How to Get Involved

There are multiple ways to participate in the Action, including:

  • Collaboration in Writing Papers:
    • Join an ongoing manuscript (check the Members Area for available projects).
    • Propose your own project, ensuring it aligns with the PROGRAMMING objectives (More Info).
    • Use WG1 survey data for research,  by requesting subsets of the database focusing on your research interest.
  • Participation in Focus Groups:
    • Join the Gender Balance Focus Group to discuss care for older adults (More Info).
  • Projects with External Collaborators:
    • Contribute to translating the updated ICOPE Handbook. For more information please contact Tamar Yellon.
    • Assist in applying the ICOPE Implementation Scorecard at a national level. For more information please contact Marina Kotsani.
  • Grant Opportunities (Available Until September 2025):
    • Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs): Travel to another institution to complete a project aligned with the Action’s objectives. More Info.
    • Virtual Mobility Grants: Propose a task/project or join a mission proposed by WG2, WG4, or WG5 leaders. More Info.
    • ITC Conference Grants: Support for Inclusiveness Target Countries or Near Neighbour Country participants to present at high-level conferences. More Info.
    • YRI Conference Grants: Support for researchers under 40 presenting their work at high-level conferences. More Info.
Planning Beyond the Action’s Lifetime

While the PROGRAMMING COST Action runs within a specific timeframe, certain activities and projects can extend beyond its official duration. We encourage long-term initiatives that ensure sustainable impact.
