WHO ICOPE material Translations

WHO ICOPE material Translations

The WHO Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) approach provides practical guidance for person-centred and integrated care for older people.

PROGRAMMING has acted as an important platform to advance an ongoing translation and dissemination initiative, mobilising its broad, multinational network of members across diverse countries and healthcare contexts.

This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to promoting good practice in the assessment and care of older people. The process is already well advanced, with work progressing in several languages. By bringing together expertise, linguistic capacity and local perspectives, the Action is helping to broaden access to ICOPE resources and support their future dissemination across different settings.

Status: Ongoing initiative — translations in several languages are currently being completed and will be made available progressively.

What is it?
An ongoing PROGRAMMING initiative supporting the translation and wider dissemination of selected WHO Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) resources. By mobilising its multinational network, the Action has facilitated translation work across several languages and healthcare contexts. The process is well advanced, although some translated materials are still being finalised.

Who is it for?
Healthcare professionals, educators, organisations and other stakeholders interested in person-centred, integrated care for older people and in the implementation or dissemination of the WHO ICOPE approach.

What can it be used for?
To facilitate access to ICOPE resources in different languages; support education and training; promote awareness of the ICOPE approach; and facilitate its dissemination and potential implementation in different national and healthcare contexts.

What is included?
Translated versions of selected WHO ICOPE materials developed through the collaboration of PROGRAMMING members. Available translations will be added as they are completed and approved.

How to use it
Select the relevant ICOPE resource and, where available, the appropriate language version. Translated materials can be used to support education, professional development, local dissemination and discussion around the application of ICOPE principles. Users should always refer to the corresponding WHO source material and any instructions accompanying the translated version.

Use and acknowledgement requirements
ICOPE materials are WHO resources. Their use should therefore comply with the applicable WHO copyright, licensing and acknowledgement requirements. Where appropriate, the contribution of PROGRAMMING COST Action CA21122 to the translation and dissemination process should also be acknowledged.

Translation, adaptation and secondary use
The translations made available through PROGRAMMING should be used in accordance with the conditions applying to the original WHO material. Further translation, adaptation, modification or incorporation into new derivative resources may require prior permission from WHO and should not be undertaken on the assumption that PROGRAMMING can authorise such use.
