Attending the 21st EuGMS Congress 2025 in Reykjavik was a wonderful and inspiring experience. The event gathered experts and researchers from all over the world, creating the perfect setting to exchange ideas and learn about the latest developments in geriatric medicine.
I had the opportunity to present a poster based on my master’s thesis research, which was a very special moment for me. Sharing my work, discussing it with professionals, and receiving valuable feedback gave me new perspectives and motivation to continue improving my research. It was even more meaningful to share this experience with my mentor, Professor Dr. Anastassia Kossioni, and my colleague, Kalliopi Konstantopoulou.
This year’s congress was also a great opportunity to attend the face-to-face meetings of the COST PROGRAMMING Action, reconnecting with colleagues and friends involved in the network. It was inspiring to see the Action’s progress and to actively contribute to its goals. The whole concept of COST is about developing, sharing, and supporting initiatives in geriatric care—and it’s wonderful to see how it not only advances care for older adults but also encourages and empowers young researchers like me.
I’m truly grateful to COST for the grant that made this experience possible. The EuGMS Congress in Reykjavik gave me knowledge, confidence, and meaningful connections that will continue to inspire my professional journey in geriatric research.
