On behalf of Prof Román Romero Ortuño, EuGMS Director of Education and Training, we would like to communicate that the 2025 European Training Requirements (ETR) in the Specialty of Geriatric Medicine have now been published by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).

The updated ETR recommends the European Geriatric Medicine Specialty Exam (EGeMSE) as the official test of knowledge for the specialty.
The EGeMSE is jointly organised by the UEMS Geriatric Medicine Section and the British Geriatrics Society (BGS), with support from the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS).
The deadline for applications for the European Geriatric Medicine Exam (EGeMSE), scheduled for 4 February 2026, has been extended to 26 November 2025, as indicated on the official website: https://www.egemse.org/
