Blog post about the 7th International and 18th Academic Geriatrics Congress
The 7th International and 18th Academic Geriatrics Congress in Muğla, Türkiye offered an exceptionally enriching and intellectually stimulating experience. This prominent academic event brought together distinguished experts, clinicians, and researchers from Türkiye and around the world, creating an ideal platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and discussion of the latest advancements in geriatric medicine.
I had the privilege of delivering an oral presentation titled “Sarcopenia Knowledge and Awareness Among 6th-Year Medical Students and Residents in Internal and Family Medicine.” The presentation fostered meaningful engagement and constructive feedback from peers, expanding my perspective on strategies to enhance geriatric education and awareness among future medical professionals.
Among the many insightful sessions, I was particularly captivated by discussions on the role of the microbiome in geriatrics, sarcopenic obesity, and emerging approaches to healthy and even anti-aging medicine. These sessions provided valuable knowledge and strengthened my motivation to pursue continued growth in clinical practice and research within the field of geriatrics.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the PROmoting GeRiAtric Medicine in countries where it is still eMergING and e-COST for supporting my participation in this distinguished congress in my field.
Overall, this congress not only deepened my understanding of key topics in geriatric medicine but also reaffirmed my commitment to advancing research and improving the quality of care and life for older adults.
